What is an eyelash extension?
An eyelash extension is a small, shaped material that is placed on top of your natural eyelash in order to provide length and thickness. Most extensions are made from synthetic materials, but there are some made from natural fibers. However, the synthetic materials often last longer and are less likely to cause irritation or allergic reaction. A lash extension is designed to enhance the look and shape of the eye in a way that looks natural and does not hinder everyday activities.
How long do they last?
With touchups done every 2-4 weeks they can last up to 2 months. A natural lash falls out every 60-90 days. Once the natural lash completes it’s life cycle the extension falls off with it.
Do lash extensions damage natural lashes?
No, not at all! Semi-permanent lash extension adhesive is formulated to create a polypeptide bond, specifically for human lashes. The adhesive dries very soft on lashes, allowing Semi-permanent lash extensions to stay flexible and bouncy just like your own lashes. Semi-permanent lash extensions will adhere to the lashes softly and comfortably while not damaging your natural lashes or causing the natural lashes to fall out.
How long does the procedure take?
Depending on the expertise and experience of the Lash Stylist and the number of lashes being applied, it generally takes between 120 to 150 minutes to apply a full set of eyelash extensions. Touch-ups can be done in as little as 45 to 60 minutes.
Can you describe the application process?
You will be comfortably reclined with your eyes closed while eyelash extensions are applied one at a time to your own natural eyelashes. There is no discomfort or pain involved in the procedure. In fact, most clients find it is so relaxing and comfortable that they fall asleep.
I have no lashes at all can I wear eyelash extensions?
Because eyelashes extensions are applied to existing natural lashes you must have some natural lashes to receive the procedure. Eyelash extensions should not, and in many cases cannot, be applied to clients who have alopecia, are undergoing chemotherapy or those who suffer from Trichotillomania, unless and until the individual has received effective treatment and normal lash growth has resumed.
